Giles Christopher scoops major Travel and Landscape Award

Giles Christopher, from Media Wisdom Photography Ltd, has been named Landscape and Travel Photographer of the Year 2010 in the recent Master Photographer of the Year Awards. The awards are run by the The Master Photographers Association (MPA), the UK’s only organisation exclusively for professional photographers.

The announcement was made at the Master Photography Awards in Birmingham. A packed audience of professional photographers and trade representatives from all around the world attended the prestigious event held at the Hilton Metropole. The event was hosted by legendary comedian Tom O’Connor, who entertained the guests throughout a glittering evening.

Thousands of Qualified MPA members from around the world submitted images for the annual competition and only the very best were short-listed.

MPA Chief executive, Colin Buck made this comment on Giles’ triumph: “It is a great honour to be presented with a Master Photographer award and Giles is a very worthy winner. The judging panel for the awards have very high standards so to win he had to demonstrate a really high level of photographic craftsmanship.”

Giles’ winning shot of Kingston Bridge was taken on one of his many early morning photo expeditions.
