Almost two years ago David Weir, GB’s elite wheelchair racer, stated his goals for London 2012 of achieving “just one gold medal at my home games.”
When we were fortunate to conduct an in-depth interview with David, where we discussed the highs and lows of his incredible career, he opening stated that this was the goal that he desperately wanted.
Last night, at the Olympic Stadium, in front of a sell-out crowd, David achieved that goal by winning the 5,000m in a sprint finish.
From all of us at The Maximise Potential Podcast, we just want to say a MASSIVE CONGRATULATIONS to David, and his coach Jenny Archer.
David has made it clear that he wants these Games to be his farewell to the sport, so we are all eagerly awaiting his performances in the remaining events….
